Job Details
Salary: TMS 3-6 £35,674-£43,607 (pro-rata £21,130-£25,829) plus SEN allowance £2,679 (pro-rata £1,587)
Contract Type: Fixed term 1 year, with the possibility to extend
Working Pattern: 19.25 hours incl PPA. Part-time, Mon-Fri mornings only.

We firmly believe in supporting children with a broad range of special educational needs to access mainstream education: our new venture is a small, specialist unit (The Treehouse) within our mainstream school where our pupils with complex needs can receive high quality, individually tailored provision for part of the week in addition to integrating with their mainstream classes. We are now looking for a specialist teacher to lead this unit.
You will be responsible for the planning, delivery and assessment of learning for the children in the unit, most of whom have EHCPs. You will work closely with our SENDCo and liaise with classteachers to ensure the pupils also have the best possible outcomes within their mainstream classes. You will also work with and direct the teaching assistants who support our pupils, both within and outside the specialist unit.
What You Need to Succeed
Applicants should be excellent practitioners with a very good understanding of high quality teaching and learning who want to develop their knowledge and skills of SEND. You will be able to draw on a range of teaching strategies and adapt them to working with children who may have communication and interaction needs, a diagnosis of autism or other needs detailed within their EHCP.
