Clinical Educator – Ophthalmic Outpatients
We have an exciting opportunity for committed and dedicated individuals to join our busy Eye Clinic at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.
Ophthalmic Outpatients is based on two sites, at the NNUH and in the Central Norwich Eye Clinic, based at Grove Road Clinic in Norwich City Centre.

Main duties of the job
Under the direction and supervision of the Nursing team, the successful candidates will participate as integral members of the team to help provide a quality service.
To be responsible for promoting and implementing practice conducive to the development of high-quality patient care, by providing professional support and guidance to all service users.

Job responsibilities
* In collaboration with other senior colleagues, to identify, support and promote practice developments.
* Practice as a professional, with confidence, authority and expertise, acting as a role model for all staff in the pursuit of clinical excellence and ensuring the provision of a high quality service.
* Ensure the practice of self and others is in accordance with the NMC Code and work within limits of competence.
* Have a competent range of clinical skills to participate in Enhanced Clinical Skills. Be aware of the extended role status of all staff within area of responsibility.
* Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines in relation to Nursing TNA/RNA, AP practice across the Ophthalmology department.
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multi-disciplinary team. Communicate effectively with all supporting services and appropriate hospital departments. Advocate for patients as necessary.
* Ensure a full working knowledge of all equipment in use in clinical area reporting faults and teaching staff in its use.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register
* To have completed Post registration CPD/ Ophthalmic/ Leadership/Education
Experience
* Significant clinical experience at Band 5, and significant experience in a position relevant to the specialty.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in Ophthalmic sub specialities.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proven demonstration of keen interest in development and teaching of others
