Duties & Responsibilities:
As a 6G Algorithm Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out algorithm development, system analysis, test tools development and performance improvement for all engineering programs including internal 5G/5G-advanced product development, 6G R&D projects and external European / national-funded research projects including Tudor, 6G-Brain, Flex-5G.
Key Responsibilities
1. 5G/5G-advanced Algorithm development
Analyse/Capture the system requirement to meet 3gpp conformance test requirements.
Develop an algorithm for Advanced receivers e.g. MMSE-IRC, R-ML to support 5G/5G-advanced features SU-MIMO, MU-MIMO, NTN, UAV, higher modulation schemes, Advanced CSI measurement, NOMA, AI/ML for air interface
Evaluate the algorithm performance through modelling, and simulations.
To provide the testing strategy for RF/ORAN/FAPI, perform regular testing on target to ensure product performance.
2. 6G Algorithm development for 6G testbeds, simulation and evaluation of new features prior to the PoCs development
3. Work with external partners to understand the state-of-the-art technologies of 5G-advanced and 6G. Participate in external 6G programs and meetings “Tudor”, “6G Brain”, and “Flex-5G” programs. Liaise with external partners on work packages and contribute to deliveries to ensure projects are fulfilling their technical objectives.
4. Identified and prioritised emerging technologies for potential collaboration with research institutes, industries, universities
5. Develop the channel modelling e.g. mobility model, fast fading model to enhance our product testing features for different testing scenarios e.g. TN, NTN, HST
6. Tracking and investigating 3gpp standard developments and evolutions, analysing the impacts on the products and communicating the findings to the corresponding engineering teams.
7. Analysis, modelling, and simulation of 3gpp 5G/5G-advanced features e.g. Link-Level Simulation, System-Level Simulation, NTN, SU/MU-MIMO, Channel modelling, Channel coding, Channel Estimation, Channel Equalisation, Advanced Receiver.
8. General algorithm developments for different wireless engineering areas, including RF, baseband, DSP and higher layer procedures.
9. To maintain and enhance the in-house test/simulation tools for product development.
10. Knowledge transfer to other teams and support developers in the implementation/testing phases.
11. Testing Tool development to validate the correctness of the implementation on the target.
12. To support the customer observation investigation and tracking. Technical supervising and supporting Field Application Engineers, coordinating with the core R&D teams for solving performance-related customer observation.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
13. Master’s degree or higher in an Electronics-related subject.
14. Good understanding of 3gpp 5G/5G-Advanced standards (physical layer).
15. Experience in detailed simulating and modelling communication systems e.g. SU-MIMO, MU-MIMO, NTN, NOMA.
16. Experience on advance receiver algorithm development MMSE, MMSE-IRC, R-ML, tracking, channel coding Polar, LDPC.
17. Software development skills in Matlab/C/C++.
18. Ability to solve various issues using a variety of methods and techniques.
19. Proven ability to work with very little input.
20. Proven mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
21. Proficient collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong productive relationships.
22. Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
