About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.
Hours: 7‑day service. Monday‑Friday 08:00‑18:00, Saturday‑Sunday 08:30‑16:30. Weekend duties and bank holidays are shared across the team.
Pay: £23.83 per hour.

Eligibility
Legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Responsibilities
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
* Undertake medication rounds and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
* Assess patients' health needs using an evidence‑based framework and be able to risk‑assess using sound clinical knowledge.
* Work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference.
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, liaising with prescribers as required.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders.
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision and evidence‑based care.
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, build strong multi‑disciplinary teams and support each other to do a great job.

Qualifications
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse – NMC registration.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Experience of working with patients, face‑to‑face, who have complex mental health conditions.
* Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse.
