The position is created to support the current Global Insurance Director, based in the UK.
The Global Insurance function's role is to procure and maintain global insurance programs and oversee local insurance programs, with direct responsibility for UK and NL, to protect the Arcadis group against identified, insurable risks. The Global Insurance Manager is accountable for supporting the setup and maintenance of the Insurance function and programs, the operation of the captive cell insurance company, and reports to the Global Insurance Director as part of the wider Finance team.
The Global Insurance Manager will support the procurement and maintenance of global insurance programs and local policies where required, following the insurance policies and procedures. They will assist with designing, establishing, and maintaining compulsory global insurance programs including, but not limited to: professional indemnity, general/third party liability, cyber, directors & officers liability, crime, and travel, ensuring the best possible terms and conditions. The Global Insurance Director will continuously monitor and analyze changes in the business and insurance markets to ensure coverage is sufficient or amended appropriately. The Director is responsible for the correct operation and oversight of the captive cell insurance company.
The Global Insurance function works closely with:
* The Global legal function and local legal counsels regarding insurance claims handling.
* The Global Risk Management function to ensure standardized risk management practices and mitigants are embedded in business operations.
* The finance functions across the group concerning budgets, premium allocations, processing insurance invoices, and monitoring.
Additionally, there is close collaboration with colleagues involved in project bidding, execution, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax.
The following accountabilities are associated with the function:
* Support management of brokers on global insurance program renewals at optimal terms.
* Assist with collection of renewal data, proposal forms, and underwriting presentations.
* Prepare premium allocations for all global policies.
* Check and monitor invoices, including raising POs.
* Maintain accurate records of all policies globally for management information and metrics.
* Manage UK and NL policies, including Motor, Car, Property, Art, and Personal Accident.
* Oversee remaining locally placed policies.
* Create budgets based on input from brokers and prepare bi-annual summaries for regional CFOs.
* Respond promptly to insurance queries regarding coverage and certificates.
* Create and update the insurance intranet page with relevant resources.
* Monitor claims between the fronting insurer and captive cell, including annual aggregates.
* Deputize for the Global Insurance Director when unavailable and perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
* At least 5 years of experience in corporate insurance, as an Insurance Manager or broker.
* Knowledge of the corporate insurance market, dynamics, and key players.
* Strong communication skills; ability to maintain contacts internally and externally.
* Proficiency in Excel, especially for premium allocations.
* Proactive team player with a no-nonsense attitude.
* Flexible mindset and service-oriented approach.
* Fluent in English, both written and verbal; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
