Consultant - Community Paediatrician
Main area: Community Paediatric. Grade: NHS Medical & Dental – Consultant Contract Permanent. Hours: Full time – 10 sessions per week, with additional PAs as required. Salary: £109,725 – £145,478 per year.

The Community Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Service is seeking a Consultant Community Paediatrician with experience in child development, ASD, ADHD, neuro‑disability, Children Looked After, children in need and children with special educational needs.
Key responsibilities
* Provide specialist community paediatric care, including child development assessment and management.
* Work independently within a supportive team, engaging in multi‑agency and multidisciplinary collaboration.
* Participate in integrated care with acute colleagues at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and South Cumbria, and collaborate with therapy colleagues, community nursing, school nursing and health visiting teams.
* Contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement and evidence‑based practice cycles.
* Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff and other disciplines.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of best practice and seek additional training as needed.
Person specification
* Full valid registration with the General Medical Council.
* Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health (or equivalent) or Diploma in Child Health.
* Capability to work at Consultant level in Community Child Health.
* Evidence of achieving competencies equivalent to Higher Specialist Paediatric Training, including at least 3 years in Community Child Health.
* Proven experience in clinical audit.
* Level 2 Child Protection training.
* Involvement in delivery of medical education and multidisciplinary training.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Clinical supervision of juniors and other staff.
* Evidence of completion of full audit cycle and implementation of changes to practice.
* Demonstrated leadership capability.
