We are looking to recruit highly motivated occupational therapists to join our team of forensic occupational therapists and therapy assistants. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to detained patients within our mental illness service line. (opportunities could include working within our female service line). This is a full time role of 37.5 hours.
Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, depending on clinical need, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
Working in a medium secure setting, you will work with a variety of conditions which are often complex and challenging, demonstrating a good knowledge of occupational therapy input into risk assessment and risk management. Standardised clinical tools based on the Model of Human Occupation will be utilised where the post holder has identified their appropriateness using specialist knowledge. Our commitment to individual clinical and management supervision and continuing professional development will support you in this specialist role. The suitable candidates will have the opportunity to supervise other members of the occupational therapy team, as well as contribute to service developments.
