Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Hemel Hempstead Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum We are working with an established engineering company in Hemel Hempstead who are looking to bring on a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in designing for manufacture and small precision industrial components. The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have: Strong DFM (Design for Manufacture) experience. Background in industrial products, precision mechanical components, or similar engineered assemblies. Proficiency using Autodesk Inventor. Good understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, fabrication). Ability to produce high-quality 3D models, 2D detail drawings, and BOMs. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team. Excellent communication and documentation skills.The role will involve: Designing and developing precision mechanical components and assemblies. Applying strong DFM principles to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and ready for manufacture. Creating 3D models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation using Autodesk Inventor. Working closely with production, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
