Job Title: Primary Design Engineer – Substations

We’re looking for experienced Primary Design Engineers to play a key role in delivering high-quality substation projects across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team committed to innovation, safety, and sustainability in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and review of substation layouts, single-line diagrams, earthing, cabling, containment, and installation drawings.
2. Conduct site surveys and collaborate with site teams.
3. Produce design and equipment technical specifications.
4. Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and compliance standards.
5. Deliver work on time and in line with project KPIs and client requirements.
Skills & Experience:
* HNC/HND in Engineering (Degree preferred).
* 4+ years of substation design experience.
* Proficiency in CAD tools and BIM environments.
* Strong understanding of HSE regulations and substation equipment standards (transformers, switchgear, earthing, lighting, etc.).
* IEng or CEng chartered status is desirable.
