ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment, making residents feel at home and staff able to perform their duties effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support.
You can expect a variety of tasks as a Head of Maintenance. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the care home building, gardens, and grounds. This may involve fixing a leaky tap and planting bulbs. You should be comfortable working independently, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You will also liaise with contractors for jobs outside your team's expertise.
ABOUT YOU
Your priority will be the wellbeing of our residents. You will ensure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. You should have hands-on property maintenance experience, with at least one trade skill, and a proven ability to undertake various maintenance tasks. Reliability and flexibility regarding working hours are essential. Additionally, a full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.
