This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small dynamic team in Information Services which provides project management and business analysis expertise for identified projects and initiatives.
You will be pro-active in collaborating with colleagues in IT and throughout the wider University, bringing your business analysis expertise to a wide-range of change and improvement activities. Although not exhaustive, this will include process mapping, requirements gathering, supporting testing as well as producing high-quality documentation.
This role is responsible for collaborating with staff throughout the University to gather requirements and to provide appropriate business case, business analysis and development documentation to support the implementation of change projects. The post holder will be expected to work across a range of business areas and projects at any one time, with the ability to manage conflicting demands on their time and prioritise effectively.
To have a key role in the development of the high-quality documentation covering the full business analysis lifecycle; as well as ensuring standardised approaches to business analysis are developed and implemented as required. Mentoring and supporting colleagues to develop the University’s business analysis capability.
To Succeed In The Role, You Will Have
* Substantial experience as a Business Analyst, including in a collaborative IT environment.
* A thorough understanding of the practices, procedures and methods required for effective business analysis, ideally with supporting professional qualification(s) and/or experience of Lean/Six Sigma approaches.
* Excellent organisational, analytical, presentation and written skills.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills with an ability to lead and facilitate discussions and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally.
* Familiarity with change, business improvement and project management disciplines.
This role is available on a job share arrangement. The University offers a number of benefits, such as a generous annual leave package, including time off over the Christmas period, as well as a generous pension scheme, travel loan and childcare voucher schemes.
In addition, to the eight Bank Holidays, there are university discretionary days between Christmas and New Year. All leave, including bank holidays and discretionary days.
