Yard Operative – Tranent, East Lothian
Pay: £18.50 per hour
Contract: 13-week probationary period (CIS/Umbrella)
Shift: Monday to Thursday Dayshift (longer hours)
Overtime: Available every Friday and weekends
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team. The role involves moving steel and aluminium materials around the workshop and yard, loading and unloading deliveries, preparing materials for dispatch, and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Loading and unloading vehicles
* Preparing materials for galvanising and dispatch
* Checking deliveries and paperwork
* Inspecting galvanised materials
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard
* Following all health and safety procedures
Requirements
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Team player with a positive attitude
* Forklift licence preferred but not essential
