Swanstaff are looking for reliable Warehouse Operatives to work for our client who is the UK's leading food & drink wholesaler. This role will be based in Erith and will predominately be Monday - Friday.
As a member of the warehouse team, your responsibilities include:
* Receiving Goods: Accepting deliveries of ambient and chilled goods, verifying the accuracy of the delivery against the accompanying documentation, and inspecting items for damage or defects.
* Storage: Ensuring that received goods are stored appropriately in designated areas within the warehouse, following organisational procedures to maintain an organised and efficient storage system.
* Picking: Fulfilling orders by accurately picking the required items from their storage locations within the warehouse, utilising picking lists or electronic systems to ensure accuracy.
* Stacking: Safely stacking goods on pallets or shelves, taking into account weight distribution and product fragility to prevent damage and ensure stability during transportation and storage.
* Despatch: Preparing orders for despatch, ensuring that the correct items are loaded onto delivery vehicles in a timely manner, and coordinating with logistics personnel to facilitate smooth despatch operations.
* Quality Control: Maintaining high standards of quality throughout all warehouse processes, conducting regular inspections of goods to identify any issues such as damage, expiration, or contamination.
* Safety: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines at all times to prevent accidents and injuries, including proper handling of equipment, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to safe lifting practices.
* Efficiency: Working efficiently to meet productivity targets and deadlines, optimising workflows and minimising waste to maximize the overall efficiency of warehouse operations.
* Communication: Maintaining clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth coordination and collaboration within the warehouse and across the organisation.
