Job Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 4 School Readiness Community Nursery Nurse to work with the 0-5 Health Visiting Pathway and the Stop in Pregnancy team.
Responsibilities
* Work with the 0-5 Health Visiting team collaboratively and with other agencies and professionals to help improve the health and well‑being of the population.
* Facilitate groups according to identified need.
* Provide specific and routine stimulus and coordinated play activities in the home environment and group settings.
* Co‑deliver the Healthy Child Programme through sessions, groups or in the home environment.
* Participate in health education and promotion particularly in relation to child health and with families where it impacts on children such as smoking cessation and or healthy eating.
* Support Promise 17 school readiness within the Care Group.
Qualifications
* One of the following: NNEB, BTEC Childhood Studies, NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.
* Parenting courses: Solihull Triple P, IAIM, Baby Massage, Sleep Fairy.
Experience
* Working within a community setting.
* Experience in working in the home and group setting, including lone working.
* Children’s Community Experience.
* Experience/interest in school readiness agenda.
* Evidence of project work.
Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge and awareness of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009).
* Good understanding of child development.
* Aware of the 0-19 service model.
* Aware of the Early Help Assessment processes.
* Ages and Stages Programme.
