Field Business Development Executive – B2B Logistics
Derby (field‑based)
£28,000–£32,000 basic salary + £20,000 OTE (realistic in year one)
The opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a nationally recognised household name in the logistics sector. This is a field‑based Business Development Executive position, focused on developing new B2B relationships with local businesses rather than selling to the public.
This is a professional, consultative sales role where meetings take place in offices, depots and business premises — not on residential doorsteps.
To clarify from the outset
This role is not door‑to‑door sales.
You will be working exclusively with business customers, within a defined territory, supported by the credibility and reputation of a well‑established national brand.
What the role involves
As a Field Business Development Executive, you will:
* Identify and develop new B2B opportunities across Derby and surrounding areas
* Meet prospective clients face‑to‑face to understand their logistics requirements
* Build long‑term partnerships rather than chasing short‑term wins
* Manage and develop your own pipeline of business opportunities
* Organise your own diary and work independently in the field
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys relationship‑building, autonomy, and variety in their working week.
Who our client is looking for
Previous sales experience is not essential. Our client is far more interested in potential, attitude and transferable skills than a traditional sales background.

Essential requirements:
* A full UK driving licence
