The primary objective of the Sustainability Scheme Manager role is to support the Carbon & Sustainability Services Director in establishing and maintaining a successful team, overseeing activities to ensure success, ensuring procedural and regulatory compliance, and helping to bring and grow industry-leading sustainability services. The successful candidate will work to raise their profile within existing and new client bases and the wider sustainability sector. The role will evolve with NQA’s strategy in sustainability, requiring adaptability.
This role involves working across NQA's Carbon and Sustainability portfolio, including Chain of Custody, Supply Chain Services, and PEFC, to ensure a strong and expanding service offering, cementing NQA’s position as a leader in Carbon and Sustainability services globally.
The sustainability market is rapidly growing and changing. The role holder must proactively engage with the team and sector to manage effectively and raise organizational and personal profiles.
The position has direct line responsibility for four NQA management posts.
Location
Location is flexible. We consider fully remote, on-site, or hybrid working. Willingness to travel to offices, client or stakeholder premises, and other locations is expected.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (environmental, sustainability, business management, etc.).
* Minimum 2 years’ certification or relevant industry experience.
* Interest and enthusiasm for sustainability and/or carbon verification schemes.
* Completion and passing of a relevant Lead Auditor / Verifier course (e.g., EMS, EnMS, GHG, CoC/Supply Chain schemes).

* Confident, outgoing, with excellent customer service skills.
* Self-starter with good finishing abilities.
* Prompt, accurate, reliable.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

* Knowledge of relevant management standards and verification/auditing principles.
* Workplace experience in carbon/sustainability issues and the TIC industry.
* Experience in strategic thinking and public speaking.
