We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Medical Education team as a Foundation Co-ordinator.
The Foundation Co-ordinator is a key member of the team and working closely with the Deputy Medical Education Manager will provide administrative activity to the Foundation Programme supporting our Resident Doctors. The successful postholder will work closely with the medical education leadership team to ensure that the delivery of postgraduate medical education and training within the trust meets the General Medical Council (GMC) standards and contracted educational services with NHSE.
You will organise the weekly teaching programme, co-ordinate medical education events/courses/meetings and act as a main point of contact for Foundation Doctors. You will also be involved in supporting the smooth running of annual assessments.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same and would be suited to someone who is enthusiastic, innovative, organised, has excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
The successful candidate must be educated to A level standard and meet the criteria as set out in the person specification for the role.
The successful candidate will be based at Princess Royal Hospital but due to the nature of the role will also be required to work at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital regularly.
Main duties of the job
* The Post Holder is responsible for the administration of all aspects of the education programme for Foundation Doctors throughout the Trust and in the community.
* The Post Holder will provide support and co-ordinate and participate in the assessment and appraisal system for all Foundation doctors within the Trust and community providing support.
* The post holder will provide administrative support to the Director of Medical Education (DME), Foundation Training Programme Director (FTPD), Medical Education Manager and Deputy Medial Education Manager(s).
* Assist in the organisation and smooth running of other Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education activities (including departmental teaching sessions/GP Meetings/Dental Meetings)
