Financial Crime Delivery Team Manager
About the role
We currently have an opportunity to manage a team in the UK Financial Crime Delivery department within the Anti-Money Laundering team. We’re looking for a passionate, people-focused leader to manage a team of up to 12 AML Investigators. In this highly regulated space, you’ll drive engagement, ensure high-quality outcomes, and develop your team’s capability to spot financial crime, uphold AML regulations, and maintain accurate reporting standards. You’ll spend the majority of your time leading through others—coaching, developing, and supporting investigators to deliver excellence in AML processes, including transaction monitoring, SARs, and case escalations. You’ll also play a key role in supporting regulatory reporting and ensuring the team operates efficiently, compliantly, and with a strong sense of purpose.
What you’ll do
1. Lead, coach and develop a team of AML Investigators to deliver high-quality outputs in line with AML regulations and internal SLAs
2. Dedicate most of your time to people leadership: coaching conversations, performance reviews, and developing individual growth plans
3. Create an inclusive, high-performance culture where team members feel supported, heard, and challenged
4. Set clear goals and expectations, regularly reviewing progress and providing feedback for improvement
5. Maintain strong engagement through career development conversations, personal development plans, and recognition of achievements
6. Drive performance management activities including quality reviews, productivity analysis, and timely interventions for underperformance
7. Monitor and report on team effectiveness, ensuring accurate data and reporting are delivered monthly to senior stakeholders
8. Support onboarding and training of new associates, ensuring AML capabilities are built early and reinforced through ongoing learning
9. Prioritize workloads, align resources effectively, and support delivery of portfolio and change activity within the AML Work Programme
10. Identify and escalate risks, tech issues, or knowledge gaps, working collaboratively to implement solutions that protect our business and customers
11. Lead your team through change, supporting process improvements, automation initiatives, and continuous optimisation of AML operations
What we’re looking for
1. A sound understanding of AML processes and regulatory reporting requirements, with the ability to connect this knowledge to day-to-day operations
2. Proven people leadership experience, ideally within a regulated or operational environment
3. Strong coaching skills, with the ability to unlock potential and drive performance across individuals and teams
4. A proactive, self-motivated mindset, able to manage high volumes, competing deadlines, and ambiguity with confidence
5. A role model for respectful, inclusive, and values-led leadership, always acting with integrity
