Are you an experienced presenter who loves to inform, entertain and engage a huge digital audience? Do you have a hunger for news as well as human interest, sport, celebrity and entertainment? Could you handle a heated debate on a big story and react to breaking news calmly? Do you live and breath digital content? Are you comfortable fronting live reaction shows for digital and social platforms as well as pre-planned interview formats?
After 18 months of stellar growth, The Sun is recognised as a leading, premium quality video producer and publisher, delivering over a billion views a month across our digital and social platforms.
We now seek a digital storyteller, with a magnetic personality, to join the team on a casual contract and deliver the best breaking stories from our new Reax Studio - from a live daily show to breaking down unmissable stories across all genres.
This is a high-impact role at the heart of our digital newsroom, responsible for delivering engaging presenter-led programmes that breaks down the biggest stories of the day for a massive global audience.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses a sharp eye for "Sun-style" storytelling and tone, can talk with authority and knowledge off script and is capable of switching from the latest developments in the Middle East to a shocking showbiz story, getting the best content out of experts and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Story Selection & Strategy: Work closely with producers to select the daily editorial agenda for the show, identifying the most compelling news, entertainment, and human-interest stories that resonate with The Sun’s audience.
2. Presenting: You must be able to translate complex news into conversational, high-energy narratives, react to breaking news with a presence of mind, moderate high energy debate among guests but also deliver humour when appropriate.
3. Guest Booking: Identify, pitch, and help secure high-profile guests, experts, and eyewitnesses to provide exclusive insights and "watercooler" moments.
4. YouTube Optimization: Experience of helping create key moments in our output that will create must watch moments for our social team and keep our Youtube audience hungry for more.
5. Compliance: A comprehensive understanding of legal standards, IPSO guidelines, and The Sun’s editorial voice.

6. News Instinct: You live and breathe the news cycle. You know what people are talking about before it hits the trending tab.
7. Exceptional Presenter: You can deliver a script with flair, humor, and authority. You understand that a YouTube show needs to feel authentic and direct-to-camera. You can talk off script with authority, warmth and personality.
8. Knows the Brand: You can demonstrate an understanding of The Sun brand, both print and digital.
9. Calm Under Pressure: You can pivot quickly when breaking news hits and manage the demands of a daily live programme where anything can happen.
10. Knowledge and Experience: Exceptional understanding of global and UK current affairs and a keen interest in human interest, sport and entertainment. Experience of live broadcasting (Digital, TV, or major YouTube channel).
