Job overview

The applicant will be based in ARC Hounslow working within the core psychosocial team, supporting clients who are referred via the criminal justice route into services.

The post holder will use their specialist knowledge and skills in addictions to undertake assessment, care planning, implementing and evaluating the case and treatment of clients involved with criminal justice services who present with drug and alcohol issues. They will complete client assessments and high-quality reports for court in relation to DRR/ATR disposals and ensure the appropriateness of the Order.

They will plan, organise and deliver individual and group work interventions for clients presenting with offending behaviour & drug and alcohol issues.

Main duties of the job

1. To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team which provides a range of specialist services to clients requiring assessments for DRR/ATR disposals and to ensure the appropriateness of the Order.
2. To provide care to DRR/ ATR service users presenting with substance use issues, including alcohol to deliver evidence-based interventions such as: harm minimisation approaches, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, care planning individual intervention, health education and detoxification programmes, mindfulness, counselling and group work in 1-1 and group work settings.
3. To provide progress reports for the offender manager and Courts.
4. Build effective partnership working with the prison and courts to ensure a timely response to requests, including timely appointments for prison releases & ‘Through the Gate’ arrangements/escorts.
5. To work in partnership with NPS and IOM to best support clients into structured treatment
6. To work effectively and in partnership with all key partners within the Borough. This includes networking and establishing links where appropriate.
7. The post holder is expected to act as keyworker to a defined allocated caseload of clients, under the supervision of designated manager within the team.
8. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the delivery of the care and management of this client group is done in compliance with expected Standards and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

The Addictions Directorate with CNWL Foundation Trust is a large, well-established provider which offers a wide range of specialist NHS drug and alcohol treatment interventions to the diverse and multicultural populations in Central and North West London. Our Drug and Alcohol services include 7 community services, 1 in-patient service. We also run a National Gambling Service and a Club Drug Clinic.

Our addictions services are dedicated to helping reduce the harm caused by substance use dependency; helping people overcome their dependency on substances and helping clients and their families rebuild their lives and enable recovery. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

9. To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team which provides a range of specialist services to clients requiring assessments for DRR/ATR disposals and to ensure the appropriateness of the Order.
10. To provide care to DRR/ ATR service users presenting with substance use issues, including alcohol to deliver evidence-based interventions such as: harm minimisation approaches, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, care planning individual intervention, health education and detoxification programmes, mindfulness, counselling and group work in 1-1 and group work settings.
11. To provide progress reports for the offender manager and Courts. This may also include supporting/delivering the structured day programme.
12. Contribute to sentence plans & breach proceedings where appropriate.
13. Build effective partnership working with the prison and courts to ensure a timely response to requests, including timely appointments for prison releases & ‘Through the Gate’ arrangements/escorts.
14. To participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, both on-site and in the community relating to client management.
15. Engage in the Safeguarding, MAPPA, MARAC & IDVSA process and information sharing protocols.
16. Develop and enhance strong partnership working and liaison as appropriate to the service and refer to & engage agencies as appropriate (inclusive, but not exhaustive; prison, police, NPS, CRCs, Liaison & Diversion Teams, Mental Health Services, GP’s, Housing, ETE, Social Services)
17. To make continuous assessments of the psychological, emotional, social and rehabilitative needs of clients, taking into account the needs of family, local community and developing care plans and evaluation of these plans
