A new 24-hour Crisis Wellbeing Centre is opening in Buntingford, offering a calm, recovery-focused alternative to hospital admission. The service will provide up to 7 days of short-term support for individuals in mental health crisis, delivered in partnership with local NHS teams.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee the operational management of the service, ensuring quality, safety, and positive outcomes.
* Provide line management, supervision, and reflective practice sessions for a team of 10 staff.
* Promote a supportive, learning-focused team culture that values kindness, reflection, and accountability.
* Lead on safeguarding, incident management, and compliance with policies and procedures.
* Build strong working relationships with NHS partners, commissioners, and external agencies.
* Manage service budgets and resources effectively.
* Deliver reports, data monitoring, and performance outcomes to agreed standards.
What you'll bring
* Experience leading teams in mental health, social care, or crisis services.
* Strong understanding of risk management and trauma-informed approaches.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
* A collaborative and compassionate leadership style.
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings and complete one sleep-in or waking night approximately every six weeks to maintain service visibility and team connection.
Salary and Additional Pay
The basic salary is at £35,000 per annum but with additional pay when sleep-ins and waking nights shifts are taken.
* Sleep-in rate approx. £75 per night
* Waking night rate £15 per hour (occasional)
