They are now hiring a Senior Engineer in Test to take ownership of testing strategy and execution across the entire platform. This is not a box-ticking QA role. It is a senior engineering position where quality is designed in from day one, not checked at the end. You will be a hands-on technical leader, driving automated testing, influencing engineering practices, and helping embed a true shift-left quality culture across the organisation. What you'll be doing Test strategy and ownership Own and evolve the automated testing strategy across unit, integration, system and end-to-end testing Set and maintain the quality bar for a complex, distributed platform Identify gaps and prioritise improvements based on risk and impact Champion best practices and embed quality thinking across engineering teams Automated testing and frameworks Design, build and maintain robust automated testing frameworks Extend and improve an existing TypeScript, Playwright-based end-to-end test suite Build and maintain integration and API tests for Java Spring microservices Ensure tests are fast, reliable and CI-friendly, using metrics and data to guide improvements Test distributed, microservice-based systems running in AWS Validate service-to-service interactions, async workflows and event-driven behaviour Ensure testing approaches scale as the platform grows globally What we're looking for 5 years' experience in test engineering or quality-focused engineering roles Strong engineering background with hands-on, production-quality test code Experience testing Java Spring applications and microservice architectures Hands-on experience with end-to-end testing frameworks, ideally Playwright Experience testing APIs, integrations and distributed systems Familiarity with AWS and cloud-native environments Experience working with CI/CD pipelines What's on Offer Salary up to £70k Flexible hybrid working model (Belfast office) Private pension scheme Private healthcare (including Dental / Optical) High spec equipment and modern engineering environment For more information, connect with Neill Ferguson on LinkedIn or submit your CV via the link below.
