Job Description
Ballinderry Rivers Trust is hiring a Catchment Officer for For the Love of Our Waters (FLOW)—a cross‑border environmental project funded by PEACEPLUS. The role focuses on improving water quality and biodiversity in four catchments, including the Swanlinbar/Claddagh River and Kilroosky Lake Cluster. This job role is based mainly in Counties Fermanagh and Cavan, with occasional travel to Cookstown, Co. Tyrone.
Key responsibilities:
* Work with farmers and landowners to design and deliver nature‑based solutions that reduce pollution and enhance habitats.
* Support conservation of species like freshwater pearl mussel and white‑clawed crayfish.
* Run community engagement and knowledge‑sharing events.
* Collaborate with NGOs, researchers, and government bodies across NI and Ireland.
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of nature‑based solutions, water management, and agriculture.
* Experience in project work, ecological monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to work independently and in a team; full driving licence and willingness to travel.
