Project Engineer – Electrical (Switchgear & Control Systems) Circa £60K Basic
Location: Kent (commutable from South East London)
A well-established and growing engineering company specialising in bespoke electrical solutions is seeking a Project Engineer to join its experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of LV and HV switchgear projects within a supportive and expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of projects from initial handover through to completion, ensuring delivery against technical specifications, deadlines, and budgets.
* Develop control panel and switchgear designs based on client requirements.
* Select suitable components in line with technical and commercial objectives.
* Oversee the full lifecycle including design, build, installation, and commissioning.
* Coordinate with internal teams to support production planning and delivery schedules.
* Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely project progression.
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, including site visits and testing phases (FAT/SAT).
* Prepare documentation including risk assessments and method statements for site activities.
Requirements
* Qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Experience with LV systems (HV knowledge beneficial).
* Understanding of switchgear design/manufacture is desirable.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Experience with CAD/electrical design software is advantageous.
