Job Description
Were seeking a dedicated Safety Manager with SC clearance for a prominent Defence client based in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a high-calibre team, contributing to vital submarine projects and ensuring safety standards are maintained at the highest level. In this role, youll benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement, spending 2-3 days onsite each week, allowing for a balanced and supported working environment. The contract is initially until 26 July 2026, with the potential for extension, offering a day rate of up to £570 (inside IR35).
As Safety Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
1. Monitoring, coordinating, and assessing all structural hazards and risks across the T, V, and A Class submarines.
2. Updating hazard action grids and preparing reports for key safety meetings such as the ISM Safety and Environmental Committee.
3. Managing hazard review processes in line with internal safety standards like RHILFE, SMARTER, and HLH.
4. Reviewing and maintaining hazard and risk databases on a monthly basis.
5. Overseeing all structural safety development activities and preparing progress reports.
6. Creating tasking forms for future structural and naval architecture development projects.
7. Tracking certification and condition statuses, updating and briefing relevant teams.
