Clinical Fellow/Trust Grade Doctor in the department of Paediatric Radiology. We are inviting applications to fill our Clinical Fellows / Trust Grade Doctor vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Paediatric Radiology. This post will commence September 2026 and is fixed term for 12 months. Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date.
Main duties of the job
Leeds Children’s Hospital provides a wide range of specialist paediatric care, which is greater than most children’s hospitals in the UK. These specialties include excellent facilities such as 4 dedicated paediatric ultrasound rooms, 2 mobile ultrasound machines, 2 radiographic rooms, a fluoroscopy suite, nuclear medicine facilities, shared use of 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla MRI scanners, three multi‑slice CT scanners and an angiography suite. This vibrant and supportive department offers potential candidates the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide spectrum of Paediatric Radiology with a diverse and fascinating caseload. Dedicated training in a variety of sub‑specialties including paediatric intervention can also be offered. Active involvement in audit, research, presentation at national and international meetings as well as participation in local courses is strongly encouraged. Leeds Teaching Hospitals is home to the West Yorkshire Radiology Academy and during the position contribution to the teaching of Radiology resident doctors will be expected.

Why you should join our team
The post is equally open to those who may, either from the outset or subsequently wish to train flexibly. The Postgraduate Dean confirms that this placement and/or programme has the required educational approval. The successful candidates will work closely with specialist registrars and consultants. We welcome applications from suitable specialty registrars/consultants who intend to take up a consultant post with a full time or major sub‑specialist interest in paediatric radiology.
What you will bring to the role
The timetable/job plan will be based on 33.65 hours 8.4 clinical sessions per week. A further 4 hours/1 session per week is intended for private study, teaching preparation, audit and research.
Additionally, an alternate week evening general acute CT list will be incorporated into the fellowship timetable. There is no further on‑call commitment. The total hourly commitment per week is therefore 40 hours.
This diverse range of educational and training options will make the post attractive to candidates from across the country. The candidate’s timetable could be adjusted to suit their specific interest.
