Therapeutic Radiographer - Team Leader

We are seeking highly motivated, caring and experienced therapeutic radiographers with excellent technical skills in treatment and image guided radiotherapy, to lead a team of radiographers to deliver exceptional patient‑centred services.
On offer:
* 1 full‑time permanent position
* 2 full‑time fixed‑term positions
The department operates an extended day shift 7:45 am–8 pm. Bank holiday and weekend duties are in line with operational needs. Participation on the on‑call rota is required.
Main duties of the job
* Join the leadership team in Treatment to deliver the service with support from the Section and Operational Lead radiographers.
* Maintain excellent patient‑centred care at all times in line with the Trust values.
* Uphold high standards of accuracy and quality in all aspects of treatment, including advanced treatment delivery and imaging techniques, e.g. IG‑IMRT, SABR, SRS, TSEBT.
* Provide learning support to junior and student radiographers and drive service development.
Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge/Qualifications:
* BSc or DCR (T)
* Postgraduate diploma or equivalent knowledge with relevant practical experience
* HCPC registration
* MSc in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent
* Management or Leadership qualification
Previous Experience:
* Substantial experience as a Senior Radiographer/Band 6 in a radiotherapy department, covering a wide range of equipment.
* Experience of Linacs, CT Scanner & SXT and readiness to work in other areas.
* Experience/knowledge of radiotherapy planning.
* Teaching and training experience in the workplace.
* Experience with advanced radiotherapy techniques such as SABR, DIBH.
Skills
* High levels of hand, eye and sensory coordination to ensure precise patient set‑ups.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Leadership qualities and ability to motivate staff.
* Strong communication skills, handling sensitive information and anxious patients with tact and persuasive skills.
* Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure in an unpredictable environment while maintaining a calm and professional attitude.
* Good theoretical knowledge.
* Knowledge of current radiation regulations.
* Organisational and time‑management skills.
* Acknowledgement of the increase in responsibilities the post will entail.
* Knowledge of QA in radiotherapy.
Additional Information

* Evidence of recent CPD activity.

Salary: £58,133 to £65,261 per annum, incl. HCA (pro rata)
