Job title: Lettings Administrator Location: Braintree CM77 (2 days in the Office) Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: 12 weeks temporary possible extension Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week Job Purpose We are currently recruiting for a Lettings Administrator to support a busy Allocations and Lettings team within a well-established housing provider. This role plays a vital part in managing mutual exchange and lettings administration processes, helping to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with key procedures and housing standards. This opportunity is ideal for a highly organised individual with strong communication and administration skills, particularly within a housing or public-sector setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Lettings and Allocations team, including processing mutual exchange applications. Liaise with tenants, housing officers, and partner organisations to ensure applications and documents are completed within target timescales. Conduct checks on tenants and properties, ensuring legal and health & safety compliance (e.g. gas and electrical certifications). Support the preparation of sign-up packs and tenancy documentation. Accurately input and maintain customer records in housing management systems and electronic filing systems. Promote mutual exchange opportunities and assist residents with transfers or moves. Coordinate with internal departments such as repairs, tenancy, and income management to ensure a smooth lettings process. Monitor CORE data and compile monthly reporting on lettings activity. Support with managing garage waiting lists and related lettings.Candidate Profile Strong background in administrative support, ideally in housing or the public sector. Excellent customer service skills with experience liaising with tenants and stakeholders. Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, use initiative, and manage competing priorities. Knowledge of mutual exchanges, allocations, and tenancy-related processes. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Experience of note-taking and producing reports. Knowledge of safeguarding and resident-related concerns. Access to a car and a full clean driving licence (some travel may be required).
