I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a fantastic global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a great culture and excellent proposition. This is an exciting, newly created role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a strong reputation with clients, is very stable, and has an excellent track record of growth year on year. You will be supported by a highly respected commercial team along with some of the best clinical expertise in the industry, joining an organization with an excellent collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position. It is remote, working from home, focusing on the UK/western European territory. You will be responsible for securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotechnology, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success in this role requires a hunter mentality and a strong network and sales track record in this region, selling full services CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets.
* Creating and implementing business development strategies for target markets.
* Prospecting to establish a pipeline of sales opportunities and RFPs from potential clients, qualified for competitive advantage, timing, budget, and decision makers.
* Utilizing Salesforce to track client activities, meetings, opportunities, and updates.
* Leading and managing the sales process for generated and received leads.
* Leading proposal development to ensure strategy, budget, language, and timelines meet client expectations.
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
* Providing input to marketing strategies supporting business development.
* Contributing to sales targets, strategies, and plans based on territory and industry knowledge.
* Supporting the sales process by securing resources for pre-sales activities.
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions to support business development.
* Collaborating with research staff to maximize selling opportunities.
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities.
