Overview
We’re on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker you’ll help people gain more independence in daily life, while working within a dynamic team in a Leatherhead residential service. No two days will be the same, with opportunities to teach new life skills, assist with personal care, encourage community access, socialise, and participate in activities. You may be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, or relaxing at home with activities like video games, films, and cinema visits. This is an amazing role for someone looking to make a real difference and help individuals grow in confidence and independence toward their goals (e.g., cooking dinner independently or going on holiday).
Responsibilities
* Support people to gain independence in daily living and learn new life skills
* Assist with personal care where required
* Encourage access to local communities and social engagement
* Plan and participate in activities and outings with individuals we support
* Support individuals to achieve personal goals and build confidence and independence
Qualifications and experience
* Full UK driving licence
* Resilient, flexible, and composed in approach
* Experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice
* Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories, and people who have experienced trauma
