We’re working with a well-established organisation seeking a confident and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Assistant to join their team, based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
This is a varied role supporting core HR operations, monthly payroll, and reward processes — ideal for someone with previous HR or payroll experience who’s looking to broaden their skills in a busy and supportive environment. You’ll act as a key point of contact for day-to-day HR and pay-related queries, while also getting involved in projects around benefits and employee data.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage employee lifecycle administration including onboarding, contracts, changes, and leavers
* Collate, validate, and process monthly payroll data accurately
* Liaise with the external payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate pay runs
* Maintain HR and payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance
* Support reward and benefits processes, including annual pay review, bonus administration, and benefit enrolments
* Respond to employee queries on pay, benefits, policies, and processes
* Assist with HR reporting, audit support, and project work as required

About You:
• Previous experience in a similar HR, payroll, or HR operations role
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and basic employment law principles
• High attention to detail, particularly with data and numbers
• Strong IT skills – confident with Excel and HR/payroll systems
• Discreet and professional, with the ability to handle sensitive information
• A proactive, team-oriented approach with excellent communication skills
