Job Title: EHCP Writer
Location: West Midlands (Remote/Hybrid options available)
Rate: £300 - £350 per day (Outside IR35)
Contract: 3–6 months initial contract with possible extension
Start Date: ASAP
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented EHCP Writer to support a local authority in the West Midlands with the timely drafting and quality assurance of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of SEND legislation and experience writing legally compliant, person-centred plans.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Write and quality assure EHCPs in line with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory timelines.
2. Work closely with SEND Case Officers, Educational Psychologists, and other professionals to ensure all contributions are reflected appropriately.
3. Ensure the voice of the child/young person and family is captured clearly in all documentation.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and adhere to internal quality standards.
5. Manage caseload efficiently to meet service KPIs.
Requirements:
6. Proven experience in writing and/or quality assuring EHCPs.
7. Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and Children and Families Act 2014.
8. Excellent written communication skills with attention to legal accuracy and detail.
9. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
10. Enhanced DBS (within 12 months or on the update service) desirable.
