The School of Natural Sciences is internationally recognised for pioneering research, innovative teaching, and a deep commitment to tackling global challenges. We offer world‑class facilities and an engaging, collaborative environment for both students and staff. If you’re proactive, keen to learn, and want to make a real difference, this role is a perfect launchpad for your career.

You’ll join our Curriculum & Programmes team—part of a flexible, cross‑functional network that places students at the centre of everything we do. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Student & Academic Services, Assessment & Progression, Information, Advice & Guidance, and Student Support & Welfare to deliver seamless, high‑quality support for teaching and learning.

Why this is a great development opportunity

Breadth & variety: You’ll gain hands‑on experience across the full academic cycle from course setup to registration, selection, and ongoing curriculum support.

Skills for HE success: Build strong data, systems, and service skills that are highly transferable across university professional services.

Grow with us: Work in a team that cares about continuous improvement and collaboration, with students’ needs guiding everything we do.

What you’ll do

1. Support course unit set‑up and maintenance in University systems and online learning environments, ensuring accurate course unit records and information in platforms and databases.
2. Assist course unit selection and student registrations, helping students make informed choices and ensuring processes run smoothly.
3. Contribute to quality‑assurance processes and specialist activities such as accreditation or Online & Blended Learning support, working with colleagues and academic stakeholders.
4. Respond to curriculum‑related enquiries via the School hub, signposting and escalating where appropriate to keep students’ experience front and centre.
5. Provide general administrative support (meeting arrangements, paperwork preparation, minute‑taking, correspondence, and record‑keeping), while actively supporting continuous improvement.
6. Collaborate across teams as part of a single cross‑University professional services community.

What you’ll bring

7. Experience of administrative processes, with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving.
8. Clear, friendly communication skills—written and verbal—able to liaise with a wide range of people and maintain confidentiality.
9. Customer‑focused mindset, responsive to student and staff needs.
10. Organisation & time‑management, able to prioritise in a busy environment and meet deadlines.
11. Team player who’s flexible and supportive of colleagues.
12. Digital literacy with standard IT packages and confidence working with data.
13. Commitment to our values, including equality, diversity, inclusion, widening participation, and excellent customer service.

What you will get in return:

14. Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
15. Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
16. Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
17. Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
18. Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
