Traffic Marshal
This position requires a proactive individual who can maintain order, manage traffic flow, and communicate effectively with drivers and pedestrians. The Traffic Marshall will be responsible for monitoring traffic patterns, directing vehicles, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
* Maintain a clear understanding of traffic management protocols and site-specific requirements.
* Manage the flow of vehicles entering and exiting the site to prevent congestion and ensure safety.
* Drive designated vehicles as required to assist in traffic management or site operations.
* Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, and other team members to provide instructions and information regarding traffic conditions.
* Monitor the area for any potential hazards or safety issues, reporting them promptly to the appropriate personnel.
* Ensure that all traffic signage is visible and correctly positioned to guide drivers effectively.
* Assist in emergency situations by directing traffic away from hazards and ensuring safe evacuation routes are maintained.
Skills
* Strong ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a busy environment.
* Excellent management skills to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring safety compliance.
* Proficient driving skills, with a valid driving licence preferred for operating site vehicles.
* Effective communication skills to relay information clearly and confidently to diverse groups of people.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure, making quick decisions when necessary to ensure safety.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to traffic management is an advantage but not essential.
