Health & Wellbeing Volunteer
Location: Wellbeing Hubs – Harrogate and Knaresborough
Organisation: Active North Yorkshire
Time Commitment: Flexible – weekdays, evenings, or weekends
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community and promoting inclusive health and wellbeing? Active North Yorkshire is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers to support a range of programmes that welcome and include disabled people, children, young people, and adults.
We also have opportunities to support our Healthy Heart initiative, helping individuals with basic health checks such as blood pressure and BMI, and offering helpful information and signposting.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting group activities like sport and exercise, mindfulness, arts and crafts, and social sessions
* Assisting participants with varying needs to engage fully and comfortably
* Helping to set up and tidy spaces, ensuring accessibility and safety
* Offering a friendly face and a listening ear
* Supporting basic health checks (blood pressure/BMI)
* Providing information and signposting to resources
* Working alongside staff and other volunteers to create a welcoming, inclusive environment
Who We’re Looking For:
* Friendly, reliable, and respectful individuals
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to inclusion and equality
* No prior experience needed – just a willingness to learn and support
* Full training and ongoing support provided
