About The Role
If you love meeting new people and want to support those affected by dementia in your area, then we may have just the volunteer role for you!
As a Group Support Volunteer, you'll support and encourage people affected by dementia to engage in activities and socialise with others in a group setting. You will be a friendly face at the group, welcoming attendees, engaging in conversations, and helping them feel comfortable. Additionally, you'll offer refreshments and assist with setting up and tidying away after the session.
Your involvement will help ensure that people affected by dementia can meet others in similar situations, access support and information, and enjoy meaningful activities.
Details of the Role
We are looking for volunteers to support our fast-paced dance/exercise session, Feel Good Friday. The group meets every Friday from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Merton Memory Hub, 67 Whitford Gardens, Mitcham CR4 4AB. This group is multicultural, and we provide music from various parts of the world.

Ideal Candidate
* You have good verbal communication and listening skills.
* You enjoy meeting new people and working as part of a team.
* You are aware of or willing to learn about dementia and its impact.
* You demonstrate empathy and compassion.
* You are over 16 years old.
