We are looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join our team at our Head Office, based in Sale. Salary: Competitive.

What you'll be doing- Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

· To take ownership of all departmental administration in conjunction with the Health & Safety Administrator

· Management of the companies ISO system including 9001, 14001 & 45001.

· Production and development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements

· Production and development COSHH assessments and updates

· Support the Health, Safety and Compliance Director in the completion of Accident Investigations and Accident Statistics

· Support and development of the overall safety management systems of the business

· Support with the management of the sub-contractors vetting process including sub-contractor KPI's, site audits and documentation.

· Independently undertake site audits/inspections where required

· Ensure compliance with applicable legal legislation throughout the business.

· To monitor site safety statistics/feedback and to ensure all discrepancies are identified and negative trends are addressed

· Provide competent advice and support across all levels of the business

· Work with the wider company teams to drive best practice across the regions.

· Manage the ladder checks

· Manage and maintain the harnesses checks, ladder checks and ensure compliance in the relevant departments.

· Manage and maintain the company Legionella checks and requirements

· Complete and report on internal DSE assessments

· Support with the internal fire management and fire aid requirements of all Floorbrite premises

· Manage and maintain relevant client databases.

· Accreditation submissions, e.g., CHAS and Safe Contractor

· Any other tasks as required

Training

· Develop the 365/365 training module for client facing staff and ensure delivery across the business.

· Continual development of the internal training procedures for the business

· Training Coordination and maintenance of the online training platform

· Training document production and distribution to management, sites, clients or other interested parties

· Toolbox Talk creation and distribution

Facilities Management

· To co-ordinate required facilities maintenance and complete building safety checks and tests, including site permits to work.

Company Projects

· Support or assist the Health, Safety and Compliance Director with company-based projects which may be deemed outside of the Health and Safety role.

What skills & experience you'll bring to the team

* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
* ISO Internal Auditor and formal understanding of the 9001, 14001 & 45001
* Good Administrative and organisational skills.
* Proficient use of Microsoft office – Word, Outlook, and Excel
* Full, clean driving license
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Familiarity and working knowledge of facilities management legislation / standards would be an advantage.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure as well as strong work ethic, problem solving and receptive of feedback
* Have a positive 'can do' attitude with the drive to see tasks/projects through to completion
* Must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision
* Strong work ethic, problem solving and receptive of feedback
* First Aider – desirable
* External approved Racking, Legionella, Harness courses are essential to the role
