We are a growing, innovative Children’s Emergency Department (CED) dedicated to providing top-quality care for children.
Our vision: To be a world-leading children’s emergency department providing the best care for all children.
The CED team includes medical staff, nursing teams, healthcare support workers, emergency nurse practitioners, mental health practitioners, and administrative staff.
Facilities include a 3-bay resuscitation room, 12 clinical spaces, and a dedicated soft space for children with mental health, learning, or neurodiversity needs.
We are offering a Band 7 Mental Health Practitioner role, focusing on in-house mental health assessment and care.
This role involves initial assessments, consultations, advice, signposting, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. It also includes working with 16–17-year-olds in the adult emergency department and liaising with other services to support children and young people with emotional and mental health needs. The role requires confidence in making admission or discharge decisions.
Our partners include the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) CAMHS Intensive Outreach Team (CIOT), ensuring safe care transitions.
We seek qualified mental health professionals such as Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, or Clinical Psychologists with relevant experience. Graduates with substantial mental health experience are also encouraged to apply.
