The Role
We are looking for a commercial lawyer to support with commercial and contract matters within the company and support the legal team with compliance, as well as dealing with additional ad hoc day-to-day legal issues as they arise.
This is a new role reporting to our head of legal, mainly involving drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements. Given the nature of our company and the pace we work at, you will be exposed to various challenging legal topics.
Key Responsibilities
* Legal support for procurement: drafting and reviewing contracts with third parties.
* Legal support for partnerships: drafting and negotiating contracts with partners (e.g., charities, employers, IFAs).
* Contract management: managing contracts throughout their lifecycle, from drafting to renewal.
* Conducting research on relevant legal issues.
* Supporting legal and compliance functions to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Who Are You?
* 2+ years PQE (preferred).
* At least 1 year of in-house experience, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment.
* Experience with commercial contracts and in-house advisory work.
* Interest in compliance (legal, regulatory, operational).
* Excellent attention to detail, organization, and pragmatic risk management.
* Comfortable working in a lean team and wearing multiple hats.
* Clear communicator capable of explaining legal concepts to non-lawyers.
