Risk Management Specialist
Overview:
Lutine Bell is seeking a dedicated Risk Management Specialist to join a growing Investment firm based in London. This role involves supporting the Risk function in coordinating the development and maintenance of the Group Risk Management Framework. The ideal candidate will evolve a Group-wide risk management function that balances framework, policy, and processes with forward-thinking capability and direction.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the development and maintenance of the Group Risk Management Framework.
* Ensure continual improvement and adaptation by considering internal and external factors.
* Develop and embed the operational risk capital assessment framework, policies, and processes.
* Build a network across the business and collaborate with stakeholders to embed an appropriate risk culture.
* Develop and maintain risk appetite statements, metrics, trigger points, and escalations linked to the Group’s strategy.
* Represent the second line at meetings, ensuring relevant risks are discussed, escalated, and mitigated.
* Enable business functions to take ownership of risk with necessary training, support, and direction.
* Lead and coach a team.
1. Risk Regulation/Prudential:
* Maintain fit-for-purpose risk governance and risk management policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
* Stay updated on regulatory requirements, advise the business on implementation effects, and offer optimization recommendations.
* Ensure internal processes and procedures surrounding core risk elements within the ICARA/ORSA processes meet regulatory regimes. Support the production of ICARA/ORSA elements, coordinating inputs from the first line.
2. Risk Reporting:
* Produce high-quality quarterly risk reports, KRIs, and risk dashboards for senior management, Executive Committees, Audit and Risk Committees, and boards.
* Support senior stakeholders in strategic decision-making by summarising complex risk themes/processes.
* Maintain the Group’s risk register, ensuring all risks and controls are captured in line with the risk management framework and leading RCSA meetings with relevant risk owners.
3. Qualifications:
* Sound knowledge and understanding of 2LoD Operational Risk Management within either an Investments or Insurance business, being familiar with ICARA and/or ORSA.
* Understanding of best practice risk management and control frameworks.
* Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements from the PRA (insurance) and FCA (investment firms prudential regime).
