Main Purpose of The Rol e:We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to cover during maternity leave. This role sits within the BCA Auction Finance Shared Services (FSS) Compliance team. They will support the Supervisor to ensure financial control and assist with cross functional working in the departmen t. Key Responsibiliti es:Verifying customer bank details by conducting confirmation of payee checks using Bankers Almanac or HSBC netMaking phone calls to verify customer bank deta ilsCorresponding with customers to obtain supporting evidence if requir ed.Arrange and manage micro-payments for verification purposes if requi redAdd verified bank details to finance sys temCheck the verified bank details that have been added to AS400, including checking for segregation of duties in the verification and updating proc essProcess Servicenow requests - Update and add customer accounts in Navis ionProcess Servicenow requests - Update and add vendor accounts in Navis ionProcess Servicenow requests - Update GL codes and Dimensions in Navis ionVerify, add and update vendor accounts, including the approved vendor rates to the Auction Finance System (AS4 00)Checking and validating VAT numbers using GOV.UK webs iteSupport DAC7 Reporting (HMRC vendor reporti ng)Verify companies house information for new vend orsMaintain VAT Arrangements, including adding them to Navision and generating requ estMaintain VAT Arrangements, chase customer and commercial team to get them agr eedOther Ad-hoc tasks include answering calls and taking messages for other FSS Auction departm entAdding Auction Vendor Accounts to ACSAdding Vendor Rates to ACSProcess debit card refunds through Verif one Knowledge and Experience Requi red:Bank or Treasury Department experience would be an advan tageLogical approach to problem solving through a methodical and organised ma nnerNumeric abilities, including accuracy of data input and reconcilia tionFamiliarity with all areas of accounting including sales ledger, bank reconciliations, purchase ledger, nominal ledger and repor tingAbility to work as part of a teamEffective communicator with good oral/written sk illsAbility to work and manage under their own initiative including priority set tingAble to meet deadl ines“Can do/Flexible attitude” to work and colleagues at peak t imesKnowledge of Navision Accounting software an advan tage We’ve put everything in place to ensure you thrive.
