Tha Rùnaire a’ Chaibineit airson Còmhdhail a’ sireadh suas ri dithis stiùiriche Neo-dhreuchdail airson Bòrd Dhaibhidh Mhic a’ Bhriuthainn Earranta (DME). Tha Rùnaire a’ Chaibineit a’ cur luach mòr sna buannachdan a gheibhear nuair a tha Bùird againn le buill aig a bheil farsaingeachd de dh’eòlas is beachdan agus tha sinn airson gun cuir a h-uile seòrsa neach a-steach airson dhreuchdan poblach. Tha sinn gu h-àraidh a’ cur fàilte air iarrtasan bho bhoireannaich, daoine air a bheil ciorram, daoine LGBT, daoine a bhuineas do mhion-chinnidhean agus daoine a tha fo 50 bliadhna a dh’aois, nach eil air an riochdachadh chun ìre a bu chòir air bòrd DME. DAVID MACBRAYNE LIMITED With over 170 years’ experience, DML is one of Scotland’s longest continually running businesses. It is wholly owned by Scottish Ministers and is a key component of our transport network, providing lifeline ferry connectivity to our islands and remote communities. DML employs around 1600 people with an annual turnover of approximately £200 million. It transports more than five million passengers annually and operates 26 ports within the UK. DML’s largest subsidiary company is CalMac Ferries Limited (CFL). CFL is the UK’s largest ferry operator in terms of ships and destinations served and one of the largest transport operators in Scotland. It provides vital lifeline services and logistical support to island and remote communities. Scottish Ministers have recently announced that they intend to Direct Award the next CHFS contract to CFL. This ten-year contract is a key part of Scottish Minister delivering the reliable, resilient and customer-focussed ferry services the people of Scotland need. DAIBHIDH MAC A’ BHRIUTHAINN EARRANTA Tha còrr is 170 bliadhna bho chaidh DME a stèidheachadh agus ’s e aon de na gnothachasan as sine ann an Alba. Tha mu 1,600 neach-obrach aig DME agus tha luach malairt a’ chompanaidh gach bliadhna faisg air £200 millean. Bidh còrr is còig millean neach a’ siubhal air na h-aiseagan aca gach bliadhna agus tha 26 puirt aca san RA. ’S e Aiseagan ChalMac Earranta (ACE) am fo-chompanaidh as motha a th’ aig DME. ’S e ACE an companaidh aiseagan as motha san RA a thaobh na h-àireimh de shoithichean is cinn-uidhe a th’ aca agus ’s iad aon de na companaidhean còmhdhail as motha ann an Alba. Tha iad a’ toirt sheirbheisean siubhail riatanach seachad agus taic do sheirbheisean bathair is lìbhrigidh airson coimhearsnachdan eileanach is iomallach. O chionn ghoirid dh’fhoillsich Ministearan na h-Alba gu bheil iad an dùil an ath chùmhnant airson Lìonra Aiseig Chluaidh is Innse Gall a Bhuileachadh gu Calg-dhìreach air ACE. Tha an cùmhnant deich-bliadhna seo mar phrìomh phàirt de dh’amas Mhinistearaan na h-Alba a bhith a’ toirt seachad sheirbheisean aiseig a tha earbsach, seasmhach agus ag obair a dh’ionnsaigh feumalachdan an luchd-siubhail – an dearbh rud a tha muinntir na h-Alba a’ feumachdainn. Responsibilities The DML Board has an executive management team and supporting staff at head-quarters in Gourock. They aim to provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective lifeline ferry services to our island and remote communities in Scotland, to support the aims of the Scottish Government and to make a commercial return to its shareholder, the Scottish Ministers. The Board currently comprises five non-executive directors (including the Chair) plus one executive director. There are a number of sub-committees within the Board, including Audit and Risk, Remuneration and Safety. The Board is the principal decision-making forum for DML. It has overall responsibility for leading and controlling the Group (to include CalMac Ferries Limited) and is accountable to the parent company’s sole shareholder, the Scottish Ministers, for financial and operational performance. The Board approves Group strategy and monitors performance. The Board has adopted a formal schedule of matters specifically reserved for its decision, which is reviewed on an annual basis. Role One - The successful applicant’s role will include bringing an island perspective to the consideration of how lifeline ferry services in Scotland are delivered and ensuring the views, needs and experiences of all of our islands are reflected in its decision making. It will be important, therefore, for this candidate to have a joint perspective of all of Scotland’s island communities and to bring a balanced view of the needs and challenges faced across the CHFs network. Role Two - We are looking for the successful applicant to demonstrate evidence of extensive IT, digitalisation and AI skills preferably with booking, ticketing and interoperability systems gained from the travel/transport sector e.g. travel agencies, airlines, train services, ferries or the like. A thaobh a bhith a’ coileanadh chùisean ionmhais agus obrachail, tha am Bòrd cunntachail do Mhinistearan na h-Alba leis gur iad an aon neach-earrannan a tha aig a’ chompanaidh phàrant.
