Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our busy School catering team. We are open to considering various working patterns, Monday to Friday during Term Time Only, so please do get in touch to explore options with us.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a school or institutional setting. Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards is a must along with an understanding of child nutrition.
As a Chef you will have a keen eye for detail and play a pivotal role in preparing delicious dishes that meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
* Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
* Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to continually enhance the dining experience.
Skills
* Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
* Proficient in food preparation techniques, with a focus on quality and presentation.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong organisational skills, with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
The successful candidate will have a strong customer focus, able to prioritise and be a friendly team player with a flexible approach.
There is an expectation to work some weekends and evenings during term time to cover sporting match teas and other School events.
Additional hours to fulfil cleaning duties during the School holidays are also expected of this role.
