Responsibilities
* Define and own the vision, roadmap, and backlog for data products and analytics development within a Data Mesh architecture
* Translate business needs from Data Product owners into clearly defined user stories and acceptance criteria
* Lead the design and build lifecycle of data products, business intelligence tools and analytics from concept through to deployment and iteration
* Collaborate with data engineering, BI, and analytics teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions
* Own and manage the product backlog within Jira, ensuring prioritisation reflects business value
* Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews
* Monitor progress, remove blockers, and ensure timely delivery of sprint commitments
Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to spend 40-60% of their time collaborating at their dedicated location, with flexible working options available from the first day of employment.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Product Owner in a technical or data-focused environment
* Good understanding of Data Mesh principles, data product design and delivery, and end‑to‑end management of analytics from source to insight
* Proven ability to lead Agile delivery, turning business needs into clear, deliverable requirements and shaping complex data products from design through to delivery
* Strong attention to detail and a quality‑focused approach with a track record of delivering successful products
* (Desirable) Experience of establishing processes within a new team environment and knowledge of the Academic sector, including publisher products, services and wider industry trends
* (Desirable) Strong commercial awareness to identify business priorities and maintain a clear focus on value
