What You’ll Do
* Manage and assist on commercial contracts, procurement, and negotiations in an NEC environment.
* Lead post-contract activities, including payment approvals, cost assessments, and contract modifications.
* Support contractors to ensure transparency and data-driven decision-making.
* Identify cost-saving strategies and optimize contract performance.
* Provide data-driven insights to support key decisions.
* Be an integral part of a team responsible for the commercial and contractual performance of projects.
* Ensure value for money in all business objectives.
* Carry out duties efficiently, following established processes and procedures.
* Comply with contractual and procurement strategies.
* Adhere to environmental, health, safety, security, and quality standards.
* Manage the selection, appointment, and management of contractors.
* Handle procurement activities, including strategy advice, tendering, and contract preparation.
* Post-contract quantity surveying, including verifying interim payments, managing change control, and producing cost reports.
* Assist project managers with early warnings, instructions, and compensation events.
* Attend progress meetings and promote commercial awareness throughout projects.
* Support dispute resolution and contract close-out strategies as needed.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in quantity surveying and estimating, ideally in large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Degree-qualified and working towards or holding chartered status.
* Familiarity with NEC contracts and cost management best practices.
* Strong team collaboration skills and proactive problem-solving ability.
