Job Description Job Title: Technical Services Manager Description We are hiring for our client, a well-established food manufacturing business, who are seeking a Technical Services Manager to support and continuously improve food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across their site. This Technical Services Manager role will act as a key technical interface between the business, customers, and suppliers, with responsibility for the Quality Management System, internal audits, supplier approval, and customer technical support. Working closely with Technical, Quality, NPD, Operations, and Maintenance teams, the Technical Services Manager will ensure the site remains fully audit-ready and compliant with BRCGS, HACCP, and legislative requirements. Top 3 Things to Know About this Job Site-wide Technical Ownership – You will own and develop the Quality Management System and food safety risk frameworks Strong Customer & Supplier Interface – Act as the technical lead for audits, complaints, and approvals Career Progression Opportunity – Join a business committed to food safety excellence and continuous improvement The Role Maintain and continuously improve the site Quality Management System (QMS) in line with BRCGS, HACCP, and legislative requirements Lead internal audit programmes, manage third-party audit actions, and ensure timely close-out Act as a core member of the HACCP team, supporting food safety risk assessments and controls Manage supplier approval programmes, including evaluation, audits, re-approval, and performance monitoring Own horizon scanning, food fraud, authenticity, vulnerability assessments, and mitigation plans Manage customer complaints, investigations, trending, reporting, and technical responses Support customer submissions, retailer portals, and technical documentation, including specifications Host and support customer, certification, and regulatory audits Work closely with Operations and Maintenance to ensure acceptable fabrication and maintenance standards Ensure all technical systems remain audit-ready at all times The Person Proven experience in a Technical Services Manager or similar food safety / quality systems role Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food legislation, and retailer codes of practice Experience managing audits, supplier approval, complaints, and technical documentation Confident communicator with the ability to engage customers, auditors, and internal teams Detail-driven with a proactive, risk-based approach to food safety and quality The Reward Competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience) Full-time, permanent position Opportunity to influence site-wide technical strategy Supportive, professional working environment Clear scope for long-term career development
