As a key part of our HR team, you will support the daily operations that help create an exceptional work environment for our staff and ensure smooth, effective HR processes.
We are seeking a proactive, organised, and people-focused HR Assistant to join our team. This role provides vital support to our HR department across various areas, including recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration. As an HR Assistant, youll be the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, and youll play a central role in creating a positive, well-organised workplace.
This is a full-time on-site role based in Central London.
Key Responsibilities:
Support with the recruitment process when needed to screen CVs, book in interviews and attend interviews.
Support on boarding and induction of new team members, preparing necessary documents, and assisting with exit processes.
Maintain and update employee records, handle confidential information, and manage HR-related documentation.
Assist with team member inquiries and requests, and escalate issues as needed to the HR team.
Help team members understand available benefits, and support the administration of programs such as health insurance and pension schemes.
Contribute to HR initiatives, from wellbeing and diversity programs to training and development projects.
Support compliance with employment laws and company policies, ensuring that all HR practices align with Firmdale standards.
Assist with the planning and organisation of HR events, meetings, and training sessions.
Skills & Qualifications:
Some experience in an HR, recruitment, or administrative role (hospitality experience a plus).
Friendly and professional, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
Able to handle sensitive information with integrity and professionalism.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using HR software (experience with systems like Harri and Fourth would be desirable).
Empathetic, patient, and approachable, with a genuine interest in supporting team members and promoting a positive work culture.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and taking initiative to improve processes.
