About the Company
Optiminastic UK Limited (t/a CarbonCut) is building a next-generation CliMarTech platform that helps brands measure, manage, and offset the carbon footprint of their marketing and advertising.
We operate as a separate UK entity of Optiminastic India, a seven-year-old, multi-million-dollar digital agency working with some of the biggest brands in India. The CEO is based in Cambridge (UK) and the CTO in London. We're now looking for a third co-founder to lead the compliance and partnerships function as we scale across the UK, EU, and US markets
and Global VCM.
Role Overview
You will own the compliance, partnerships, and credit-supply side of CarbonCut — ensuring that every emission factor, equation, and offset we use aligns with the GHG Protocol, SBTi, SECR, CSRD, and Verra/Gold Standard frameworks.
This is a founding-level position for someone who can combine strategic understanding of carbon markets with the discipline to build a fully compliant, audit-ready system from the ground up.
Key Responsibility
Lead all regulatory and compliance initiatives across the UK ETS, EU ETS, and global Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM).
Maintain close collaboration with advisors, auditors, and verification bodies to ensure every methodology used in CarbonCut adheres to recognized standards.
Oversee the sourcing of 100% verified carbon credits and build long-term partnerships with trusted suppliers, exchanges, and registries.
Set up and manage an internal due-diligence and compliance framework, covering supplier screening, project verification, and anti-greenwashing controls.
Support integration of climate-data partnerships and ensure ongoing compliance with carbon accounting principles.
Contribute to corporate strategy, investor discussions, and product positioning, ensuring compliance remains a competitive advantage.
Ideal Background
Proven experience within carbon markets, ESG compliance, sustainability consulting, or environmental finance.
Solid grasp of UK, EU, and US compliance regimes (UK ETS, EU ETS, SEC Climate Disclosure, CSRD).
Analytical rigour with the ability to interpret and apply complex sustainability frameworks.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills — able to engage regulators, partners, and enterprise clients.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the resilience and ownership expected of a founding partner.
A degree or background in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Climate Policy, or a related discipline is highly valued.
Globally from any country is okay, unless can communicate in english.
We are building one-of-a-kind real-time internet carbon emission tracker and auto-offset solution. We have received early interests and enquiries on the product from BIG brands.
Equity, leadership, and long-term influence are all on the table for the right co-founder.
