About the Role
Twenty Four Seven Nursing is recruiting Nursery Practitioners to work within an NHS Day Nursery in Steeton. This agency role involves working Band 2 shifts while supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare and early years education for children aged 0–4 years.
You will be part of a supportive NHS early years environment, helping to create a safe, caring and stimulating space that follows Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards and NHS values.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Learning
* Support children’s physical, emotional, social and developmental needs.
* Assist in delivering age-appropriate learning experiences through play in line with EYFS guidance.
* Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
* Support observations and developmental records when required.
Environment & Safety
* Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment in line with NHS policies.
* Follow health and safety standards including manual handling and infection prevention and control.
* Report accidents, incidents or equipment concerns to senior staff.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Communication & Teamwork
* Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
* Adapt effectively to the routines of the NHS nursery environment.
* Promote equality, diversity and non-discriminatory practice.
* Follow all NHS policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
Safeguarding & Compliance
* Work within safeguarding policies to protect children and vulnerable individuals.
* Follow EYFS, Ofsted and NHS standards at all times.
* Complete all mandatory and statutory training relevant to the NHS nursery setting.
Requirements
Essential
* Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience working with children aged 0–48 months in an early years or nursery setting.
* Understanding of EYFS and basic Ofsted requirements.
* Ability to provide inclusive, age-appropriate learning opportunities.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to maintain hygiene, safety and safeguarding standards.
* Good literacy and numeracy.
* Flexibility to work NHS Band 2 shifts in Steeton.
* Commitment to confidentiality and professional practice.
Desirable
* Paediatric First Aid certificate.
* Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
* Safeguarding training.
* Experience working within NHS childcare or supporting Ofsted inspections.
* Experience mentoring students or junior staff.
