Research Administrator
Band 3, £24,937 – £26,598 per annum
Fixed term/secondment opportunity until 31 March 2026

Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the R&D team to assist in the governance and delivery of quality care and service to research participants and researchers within a dedicated research setting. Working closely with the substantive Research Administrator, Research Governance Facilitator / Research Portfolio Manager, research delivery team, Research Nurses, Principal Investigators and clinical teams to ensure a high quality service.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of studies and the wider Research Team.
* Organise copies of materials and collate information as requested by the Research Team.
* Collate activity and other information to support research and other projects as required.
* Maintain Site Files as delegated.
* Ensure that all research study staff meet Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training requirements and have updated research CVs.
* General office administrative duties.
* Support data inputting and ensure all data is entered in a timely manner within 48 hours of a participant visit.
* Provide and receive routine information including complex or sensitive information relating to participants or their legal representative.
* Work with the research team to prepare and review study documentation in preparation for audit and regulatory inspection.
* Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships within the service, the Directorate and Trust.
* Support and organise monitoring visits, site qualification and site initiation visits.
* Organise regular research team meetings.
* Assist in the formulation of documentation for ethical submission.
* Assist with non-invasive research activities, e.g. questionnaires.
* Maintain database and trial data entry accuracy.
* Support monitoring visits and maintain requisite documents.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C or above) in English and Maths.
* Relevant administration/secretarial experience.
* Maintenance of accurate records and filing systems.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Experience with database inputting in an accurate and timely manner.
* Confidentiality and data protection knowledge.
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 2 Business Administration.
* Experience of working in a research environment.
* Knowledge of hospital information systems (e.g., Lorenzo).
* Knowledge of research processes.
* Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice.
* Knowledge of web-based data handling software.
* Experience with spreadsheet software.
